Sections
Sections are the containers for custom fields. This allows the administrator to customize the interface for a specific type of entry. When you create a new Section, you are creating a new admin interface for an entry. Unlike other CMS software, symphony does not assume you will post a blog type entry, an article, or a side link.
Custom Fields
Custom Fields are what make up Sections. They work together with Sections to create your publishing environment. They are additional custom input fields you create and assign to a Section.
For example,If you want to create a sidebar with links, it wouldn’t make sense to use a body field. You would probably want these custom fields to be different for this section than others. For instance, you would want a title and link field. What if you like to read articles? you would want a title, body, and possibly an excerpt field.
